God and us
GOD
AND US

“To err is human and to forgive is
divine,” so the saying goes. As an educator, a person is all
out willing the good of his or her students (at least this is what each teacher
and educator is called to do). But quite often, it happens that the
expectations and demands of the educator on one’s students may not be
reciprocated which consequently leads to frustration on the part of the
educator.
At times I wonder how God must be
thinking about us. Each time He gives us another chance to come back to Him hoping
that we may stay on with Him but sadly that does not happen. How much should
God be frustrated with us? Yet He continues to give us opportunities and
circumstances to come back to Him. That is why He is great and almighty as
Benny Hinn once said, “The greatest
miracle that Jesus worked was not changing the water into wine, the
multiplication of the fives loaves and two fish or even the raising of the dead
which are all true and valid. The greatest miracle is the new – birth experience;
when you and I experience salvation from sin, that was and still is today the
greatest miracle.”
There is nothing more powerful than
experiencing the love, mercy and forgiveness from God. Joanna Weaver, in her
book, “Having a Mary heart in a Martha
world” writes,
“Salvation isn’t about what I do; it’s
about what Jesus did. The Cross did more than pay for my sins; it set me free
from the bondage of the ‘should(s)’ and ‘if only(s)’ and ‘what might have been’.”
God loves us the way we are; not the
way we should be. His love is unconditional. Isn’t that liberating?
