Failure is a mindset

FAILURE IS A MINDSET

Mario D’Couto

If you don’t believe in yourself, who will? When you say, “I cannot do it” or “It is impossible” you are already putting a mental block in your head. DON’T! Remember to always BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! According to Dr. Joseph Murphy, the infinite intelligence within your subconscious mind can reveal to you everything you need to know at every moment of time and point of space provided you are open – minded and receptive. You can receive new thoughts and ideas enabling you to bring forth new inventions, make new discoveries or write books and plays. Moreover, the infinite intelligence in your subconscious can impart to you, wonderful kinds of knowledge of an original nature. It can reveal to you and open the way for perfect expression and true peace in your life.

The law of your mind is the law of belief. This means to believe in the way your mind works, to believe in belief itself. The belief of your mind is the thought of your mind. It is as simple as that. All your experiences, events, conditions and acts are the reactions of your subconscious mind to your thoughts. Remember, it is not the thing believed in but the belief in your own mind which brings about the result. Cease, therefore, believing in false beliefs, opinions and superstitions. Begin to believe in the eternal verities and truths of life which never change. By doing so, you will move upward. In this regard, I am reminded of the words of Bruce Lee who once said, “Recognizing the influence of my subconscious mind over my power of will, I shall take care to submit to it a clear and definite picture of my major purpose in life and all minor purposes leading to my major purpose and I shall keep this picture constantly before my subconscious mind by repeating it daily!”

The human mind is like a huge storehouse from where everything springs forth. All your actions spring forth from the thoughts in the mind. The best way to understand the mind is to compare it with a garden. Just as a garden has the task of uprooting the weeds and pruning the plants that grow in the garden, so is it upto the responsibility of each individual to cultivate the right mindset which is based upon cultivating the right kind of thoughts. What is inside manifests itself outside.

Dr. Murphy tells us that most men live in the world without. The more enlightened ones live in the world within. This is what makes the difference between the ‘traveller’ and the ‘vagabond’. A person who is travelling has a specific destination in mind for which he/she takes the necessary steps to reach that place. A vagabond, on the other hand, is just a drifter. Your creative power is based on what lies within. Hence be careful of what goes within. If you feed your mind with junk, you will get junk. Hence, instead of saying, “I cannot do this”, you should say, “How can I do this?” When you ask such a question, it causes you to think of other possibilities.

Your subconscious mind works 24 hours a day and makes provisions for your benefit, pouring all the fruit of your habitual thinking into your lap. It is like eating the right kind of food. If you want to stay fit and healthy, you have to eat the right kind of food. If you eat the wrong kind of food, you know what to expect. So, tweak your thoughts and your thoughts will make your world. Busy your mind with the concepts of harmony, health, peace and good will and wonders will happen in your life as Bruce Lee would say, “What do I live on? My faith in my ability that I’ll make it. Faith makes it possible to achieve that which man’s mind can conceive and believe. It is a well-known fact that one comes, finally, to believe whatever one repeats to one’s self, whether the statement be true or false. If a man repeats a lie over and over, he will eventually accept the lie as truth. Moreover, he’ll believe it to be the truth. Every man is what he is because of the dominating thoughts which he permits to occupy his mind.”
